Value-Based Healthcare in Practice: what it takes, who's leading and where it is going

Value-based healthcare (VBHC) is widely talked about, yet it often stays an abstract idea that is hard to act on. Two decades into its implementation, the promise still outpaces the practice for many clinicians and care teams. 

This webinar moves the discussion from concept to action. Bringing together Olga Kokshagina, a value-based healthcare researcher and educator working at the University of Sydney and collaborating with the EDHEC Innovative Health Chair, and Maria-Belen Lopez from the French Institute for Value in Healthcare, a VBHC implementation specialist who works alongside healthcare organizations to turn value-based principles into measurable change. Drawing on real-world experience, this session goes beyond theory and focuses on: 

• What it really means: how value-based healthcare translates into day-to-day practice, defined clearly for clinicians and for the wider care ecosystem. 
• The building blocks: the elements you need in place to introduce it, from integrated care and care pathways to outcome measurement (CROMs, PROMs and PREMs). 
• Where adoption stands: concrete examples from various countries, hospitals and healthcare institutions, along with the obstacles that come with them. 
• Barriers and what comes next: the common challenges to adoption and where the field is heading, including the growing role of sustainability in how we define value.
